I think I used Evo Stick in a tescos bag around the back of the school bike sheds.

Worked pretty good if I recall.

Thanks fellas, and Mick.

Been there, got that headache.

It's mainly plastics I'm gluing, kids toys and shelves they rive out of the fridge.

Some plastic on metal, fabrics now and then.

I used to use superglue for everything, it's utter shite now.

Even when you glue your fingers together you can free them with a good shower.

When I was a lad....

If the plastic is ABS then Eththyl Methyl Ketone ( spelling ) will devolve it and join it together . This can be found in " osma pipe cement " and works a treat . You can use the Osma cement to make a fillet like a weld .

This gear is by far the best I have come across, it will stick steel bolts to the back of plastic trim. Trust me I am old.

The problem with gluing stuff together is that you then have to break it apart to see if it stuck!

I had some of that q bond, strange stuff to use but worked well.

Some of the vast range of "silicone gun" type adhesives like Tec7 and Stixall(an Evostick product) are very very good, and I have used to fix various domestic odds and ends, if used as directed, also impressed by Gorilla glue, for wood, and Cascamite/Extramite, ditto for wood in the past.

Ideally need to find a trade rep for 3M or Loctite, or other big name manufacturer, and see what "factory" spec stuff they can get.

Since I used to know the "heid buck Cat" for Loctite Ireland.

But always "horses for courses"

PS

Agree about modern SuperGlue, being shite.

Mitre Fix is excellent stuff for an instant repair and is stronger than the wood itself! Its a form of superglue but with a separate activator.

Gorilla glue is great stuff but a bit messy as it expands.
