Personally, I'm not sure Assad did it. Trump had better have watertight evidence.

 

This could, as boss says, have far reaching global consequences if it annoys Putin.

 

It's bizarre. Assad and the Russians were winning the war and then Trump wades in because they used chemical weapons. Why would Assad risk an American bombing by using chemical weapons when he had nearly won?

 

I call "fake news" on this.

 

Anyway, is using chemical weapons really that much worse then conventional weapons? I don't really see much difference between being blown up and being gassed.

 

I have to admit I'm disappointed in Trump over this. It looks like he might be Hilary Clinton in a suit.

Trump is only doing what Obama should have done years ago. It's a lesson the Israelis learned decades ago and has served them well ever since. It's the only language that Russia and Assad understand. I think it will be a good lesson in discipline for Assad. There are no easy answers for the problems in that part of the world but someone should take a stand.

Ive watched several interviews with Assad, some with pretty hostile journos. He always comes across as intelligent, stable and, dare I say it - humble. The phrase going around now is "suicide by Trump" He had nothing to gain from this and everything to lose. The only people who "win" from this event are the rebels and the neocons.

I've seen reports that no Syrians or Russians were killed in the raid I've also heard that no Syrian planes were destroyed

 

It looks like Trump warned the Russians he was going to bomb Syria. The Russians told the Syrians and they moved their people out the airfield.

 

I've also heard that the cruise missiles all landed on the same place

 

It looks like it was more a "shot across the bows" than a proper attack

A few days later a Chemical attack in Syria...

 

Americans mistakenly attack Assad's forces.

Putin bombs humanitarian convoy.

 

My theory is Putin, using Assad as his proxy, launched the attack as retaliation and warning for the attack in Russia..

 

Obviously they can't publicly blame Putin, but a message can be sent in his direction via this airstrike..

 

The message, look Mr Putin, we understand your annoyed and want to do something about the terrorist attack on your train, but this is not the way to go about it.. and yes, we're serious...

to be fair it was a twitter feed from someone in Syria - not the best source.

 

A quick google search says 7 dead. I'd suggest that 59 tomahawks killing only 7 people means the Syrians were warned of the attack...
