Since one of today’s topics is self defence, has anyone here ever voted for a politician or political party who are in favour of imprisoning women who carry a pistol to defend themselves and their children from, among other things, sexual or general violence or kidnapping?

I hear that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor is likely to have his Navy rank pulled too. I wonder if Two Tier Kier has the stones to take all the privileges away from Mandelson or has he the spine to stand up and return them voluntarily? Or Tony Blair got the humility to apologise to the nation for inflicting the turd on us!

Well.... no government in the United Kingdom has ever revoked the " preservation of life" Section 5 FAC that enables some members of the UK genpop to carry a concealed pistol.

Therefore nobody has Alex.

I almost wouldn’t have a problem with it if there was a single app, the convenience of being able to extend my parking without running back to the car is also a money saver. Problem is I now have 3 different bloody parking apps on my phone

True. I'm sure I saw something somewhere recently about a new initiative to try to standardise carparks so that they could all utilise one app, or at least a small number of apps. That'd be great, but I don't see it happening anytime soon sadly.

Yup, saw this on TV last night and made a suitable donation.

It is a nice part of the world, you should take a trip up there (Kielder on the edge of this plot of land is one of the UKs dark skies areas - great for stars, and the RAF will blast up and down there every now and then to wake you up). For reference just east of the middle of the country, about 25 to 30 miles from Blyth so not too far away from any of us.

It'll be nice if they do get it. A big boost for local biodiversity; a small reversal of the general collapse at least.

I’m happy to wait to see what the police say was the motive for the attack

Not sure that's true.

""You are on here absolutely desperate for it not to be a particular something when history shows us it’s factually very likely to be exactly that.""

Some = A tiny, tiny, tiny minority.

And you're not even right by being overly semantic. The vast majority of voters cross boxes that keep women disarmed (but do cage them if they do manage to arm themselves). They should have to vote in the presence of rape victims, look them in the eye and tell them they would prefer them to suffer rape than be able to protect themselves.

What the fck are you picking an argument about this for?
