I wholeheartedly agree.

Life would be pretty shit without the freaks and the weirdos.

The best people are, invariably, oddballs.

I like vinyl as it's a tangible thing that you have to interact with. CD's are a bit like a microwave compared to an oven.

These days, most of the music I listen to is bluetoothed through my hearing aid.

Occasionally I crank up the amp and rattle the windows.

I agree, vinyl is undoubtedly cooler. I was just a little too late though. The tangible interaction thing is very true also. Like packet cigarettes vs. rollies. Back in the day I'd far rather have a rollie, the act of making it was half the pleasure..

Likewise a wall full of CDs and DVDs, all my cars have CD players, house has CD player, and I even found my old discman the other week (along with the converter to plug into a car tape player for the first car before I upgraded to a JVC stereo in the days that you could).

'Many of those who’ve spent years deriding others as “snowflakes” fail to see how triggered they now are. They don’t recognise who benefits from their outrage — tech platforms, cynical political operators, grifting influencers and unhinged corners of legacy media. Escaping their notice entirely is how their chronic emotional dysregulation makes them vulnerable to the very manipulations they believe themselves immune from. In this activated state, real threats remain unseen while imagined ones are magnified.'

I cannot understand the nostalgia thing for vinyl, CDs or, God forbid, tapes.

I love just pressing a button and the music starts. I want to listen to the artist(s) not engage in some 70s retro cosplay.

I like LP cover art. In a similar way to liking books, as opposed to kindle/pdf's. That's the main driver in things for me. I'm deaf as a post, so sound quality is lost on me.

Agreed, the album covers were a thing.

Here’s one I always loved as a teenage boy.
