I was having a discussion with someone the other day who was attacked for saying a video of 2 men proposing and kissing at Disneyland made his skin crawl. Well you can imagine the outrage that caused. Ia that homophonic?

if a vegan is disgusted and feels like throwing up watching someone eat meat is that different? It’s how you treat people that matters, not how you react to individual actions

I was making dinner last night, my eldest was reading at the table and asked me "Dad, what's gays?"

I was a bit taken aback, but I managed to explain the whole thing in fairly PG terms.

Then she asked "And what's penetrating gays?"

"Err... read me the whole sentence...?"

" 'She turned to him with a penetrating gaze...' "

Things are bad now with homophobes and pride and trans all these new considerations, but back in the day when they tried to cure Alan Turing by pumping him full of female hormones to hopefully stop his urges, things were even worse.

A top scientist who helped crack Enigma and win the war, hounded and prosecuted.

I listened to a podcast series recently on this, just horrendous. The way people were treated by these officers, and the money at their disposal to spend as they saw fit with no checks by anyone, for year after year.

They were buying houses, motors, basically bankrolling the people they were investigating, and mostly the evidence they were collecting wasn't even of criminal behaviour.

One that stuck out was "She requested my assistance logistically to convey seating equipment to X address". What heinous crime was this organised criminal engaged in? She'd bought a picnic table and 4 chairs at a car boot sale and asked the guy she thought was her long term partner to take it to their home in his van!

Indeed. They're absolutely rotten.
