I have wondered at how they "get away" with  washing their ponies down in the pristine stream at Appleby, using plenty of bog-off detegerent, and nary a word said about the Environment or pollution. This information From a widely publisised image.

There is no stream at Appleby, it's the river Eden.

Be warned - my son lives in Temple Sowerby (close to Appleby) and joined in a general moaning thread abcout the travellers during one Appleby Horse Fair on FB.  He was 'visited' by three of said travellers who did their best to alter his train of thought - not by gentle persuasion either!  On that occasion plod did get involved.

MoD plod refuse to enter traveller sites on Salisbury Plain. Even in numbers.
One of my customers got a couple of hare coursers to a magistrate's court. £2k fine and dogs put down. The later was worse for them. There are landowners who will prosecute despite the "We know where you live" threat

Funny how the media is in an absolute feeding frenzy over the current Doms travels issue. No one is batting an eyelid ? pun intended about the antics of the Chinese in Hong Kong or in reality the fact that the source of this was also a Chinese issue. We have total idiots like the snp fool Blackford demanding an enquiry ffs and even managed to tag on the end of it a comment ref independence. The antics of the French escorting illegal immigrants by the boatload on a daily basis across the channel generated a murmur for a few days but nothing more and in reality how much of a health risk is that as opposed to Doms journey ?????. Like a lot of things with this virus it’s degenerated to a political points scoring exercise complete with massive doses of over the top indignation fed to a gullible easy led proportion of the public whom love nothing more than having a public figure to vilify.
The issues facing the country are enormous but what does the media concentrate on ????.

At the end of the day, 'Dom' took the entire country for mugs (unless you happen to buy his patter).
He's earned his little bit of limelight.
