Hmm, I read some of his "ideas" and fear he is all about bright intoxicating new ideas,

so now,

just lets rapidly move onto the next intoxicating new idea,

while blithely ignoring the fiasco our last new idea turned out to be.

So, he’s good at dumping on people, that’s great, does he have any positive qualities at all.

Some people were too long overdue a good "dumping on" would be my answer to that question.

Stupid persons idea of a clever person.

If he had  say a brummie accent he could say the exact same, and not be taken seriously, but certain people  have undue respect for posh sounding people by some kind of weird warped logic that posher automatically = clever  so treat his every innnane word like hes some kind genius oracle.

Same with  bumbling Boris.

Both have realized content isn't important. "Eton Trumps" throw in a  a few latins phrases to impress the serfs

Absolute bollocks to that idea Stere, I do not conflate intelligence, dialect and education.

They are three quite separate things, and in no way connected.

As in one can be intelligent and uneducated, or educated but unintelligent, and how one speaks is merely a result of where one was born, mostly.

JRM and Boris were from birth both searingly intelligent, highly motivated, and are now definitively intellectual, due in no small part to their superlative Eaton education.

Tough!

No it doesn't, I've got a broad Stoke-On-Trent accent and I've not lived there for most of my adult life, on the other hand my brother has no such accent having lived there all his 61 years, he purposely lost it due to being in big business where regional accents were frowned upon back in the day. JRM talks like tw*t because he is one.

Eggs, I did say "mostly".

As in I knew a brother and sister;

Alf left Cavan aged 16 or 17 and went to Australia, but when he came home after 50 or 60 years away, one would have sworn that he had never left Cavan.

On the other hand, his sister Joyce, moved up to NI from Cavan, lived local here all her life, but after spending a week in England visiting relatives near Birmingham, came back with a Brummie dialect.

The difference was quite astounding.

So, "mostly".

cheers
