Pleased he overcame his initial awkwardness to join in, easy to be standoffish in these situations, seems like a fine young man.

Was he in the House of Commons?

They keep it in the family in these parts!!

Isn't that the new Waddington's game? "Incest, the game all the family  can play".  Already a sell out in Cornwall.

Getting raged up listening to James O'Brexit demonstrating his characteristic lack of understanding and piling his media hype upon a situation / scenario which he will have very little understanding of.

The 'strategic corporal' concept is well understood within military circles and this is the latest example of national /  international politics (usually the domain of suits and seniors poncing around HQ or embassy taking extreme care over every spoken or written word for fear of upsetting the delicate balance of international diplomacy) being turned completely on its head by the seemingly inconsequential and impetuous actions of a very junior military person at the coal face.

Imagery very easily becomes iconic - especially with embedded media at the front line and with the proliferation of personal media recording equipment which goes irreversibly viral at warp speed.

The (seemingly) innocent, perhaps ill advised but usually impetuous actions of the few, can have monumental personal (Alex Blackman), national and international implications, examples of positive and negative actions caught on camera below.:

positive:

Negative:

What O'Brien is doing is failing to consider the cause whilst focussing entirely upon the symptom.

The action is foolish, impetuous and will bring severe consequences for - probably - the range commander / troop commander.  That said, I wonder why the Para's are less than fully embracing of a politician who knowingly, willingly and consistently aligns himself with known terrorists and murderers and should it not be his behaviour which should be under the microscope (as a senior statesman) rather than that of an average Joe?
