How was it preventable?

What changes would any government need to make to prevent this happening again?

By deporting the terrorists entire families as far down the line as could be traced. To the country/ region their genetics match the most with.

Heavy handed? Yes . I bet after only a year or two of this approach things would settle down admirably.

The attack could have been prevented by not allowing radical ideology to flourish  under the guise of human rights. It never used to be like this did it Bill?

Preventable - of course.

Just consider if Axel Rudakabanas parents hadn’t been allowed in 20 odd years ago, those three little girls in Stockport would still be alive.
As has been said many times, we have enough of our own home grown scum to deal with, without importing more by the thousands every month. How frequent do these attacks have to be before action is taken?

What happens to The Good Friday Agreement if we abandon the ECHR?

thats the kind of thinking that leads to a random mosque getting burnt

As opposed to random people getting stabbed/ blown up/ run over/ raped?

yet to see anywhere that suggests the attacker wasnt white british born.

but naturally you will rush to assume he was some shifty immigrant?

damn, if only jack the rippers parents had been deported. and raoul moat. and peter suttcliffe. ian brady. myra hindley. the list goes on.

Wherever he was born he needs dealing with appropriately- if he’s home grown scum or immigrant. Once this info is released then we will know either way

F**k me that's ridiculous. How far back you gonna go? We're all descendents of immigrants in the uk. There were no people here after the last ice age so maybe we just empty the place and there'd be no more crime? Happy then?

Yes.

If you ignore the risks inside your own family, out you go. These attacks " were always a complete surprise to the family"

The decision to attack innocent civilians whilst on a high speed train is a calculated and evil act. Nowhere to run or hide, limited to zero security before boarding and the knowledge that the emergency services can’t get onboard for a significant period of time.
Sadly men women and children in the UK are not encouraged, trained or in most cases allowed to defend themselves, my youngest daughter uses public transport regularly to get from Aberdeen to Glasgow, it’s always a relief to have her back home in one piece. There is as you alluded to a price in human lives that politicians ( in particular the current uk administration) are willing to pay rather than have the leadership and guts to make changes.
Im grateful to live out in the sticks

Learn to defend yourself. Have some situational awareness instead of being nose deep in a phone. Be kind. Take no shit.

It's not rocket surgery.
