China, as you very well know, also operate the worlds largest wind farm, and solar farm, have the most renewable energy electricity generation - triple the nearest countries, reputed to be installing 50%+ of the worlds renewable energy annually, they are on a par with the 'western world' when it comes to renewable energy generation per capita.

So if you are wanting to knock a country for its commitment to renewable energy source, China is a piss poor example for you to choose. Pop off, do some reading, some education.

China do need picking on.

They are still by far the largest polluter on the planet, mainly from burning fossil fuels.

China vs. the world in CO2 emissions
  • Total Emissions:
China is the largest single contributor to global CO2 emissions. A 2023 report by the International Energy Agency (IEA) found that China was responsible for 35% of global CO2 emissions, exceeding the combined emissions of all developed economies.

China's population is approximately 17.2% of the world's population, although this figure is based on 2025 estimates and the share has been declining. While historically the most populous country, India has surpassed China in population.

what you are getting at is China is not the worst polluter per capita (US is the highest polluter per person at 14 odd tonnes CO2 each per year) China only 8 tonnes and the angel like Brits at a mere 4 tonnes. Just going out for a drive now to bump ours up a bit .

China is still twice as bad as us - and there are billions of the blighters at it

just because China aren't as bad as US or Canada per capita, doesn't mean they are in the clear, rather being responsible for 35% of world CO2 emissions, but only 17% of world's population means China are still world climate enemy number 1. All the coal they still burn - absolutely atrocious.
