JDV Visits Greenland [BBC Link]

"[JDV] said the visit to the military installation was to check on the island's security, as "a lot of other countries have threatened Greenland, have threatened to use its territories and its waterways to threaten the United States, to threaten Canada, and of course, to threaten the people of Greenland"."

[My underlining] Er which countries would they be then? I can only think of one. Definite case of "Citation Needed"

"He added that the Trump administration wants to "reinvigorate the security of the people of Greenland", and that the United States and Denmark have ignored it for "far too long"."

[My underlining again] sounds like one of those phrases that will go down in history like "special military operation", "Austria is suffering al of of unrest: it's up to us to sort it out", and "they speak german in the sudetenland so we might as well have that too"

ETA

"He added that the Trump administration wants to "reinvigorate the security of the people of Greenland" and JDV is an honourable man.

Up to 2,700 jobs at Scunthorpe's steelworks could go following a British Steel consultation.

Meanwhile closer to home 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Madness to put the UK in a position where we cannot make steel.

Earlier, British Steel said the blast furnaces were "no longer financially sustainable" due to tough market conditions, the imposition of tariffs and higher environmental costs.

That’s that post answered straight away

We can’t even produce enough for our own needs Mark

You and the rest of the Trump crying crew should look to what’s going on in our own country first rather than worrying about the USA

The green zealots amongst you might want to look at the steel production figures for China and India too compared to us 🤷‍♂️cost of energy maybe a clue here 🤷‍♂️
