I am in the process of looking at buyng a vertical log splitter 18ton type of machine,with a winch.

What make do you guys use? Thanks for any info.

I do not mind paying for quality but not for the name:sneaky2:

Got a rock machinery one, wouldn't describe it as up breakable but it's done a fair few ton and is holding it's own. For the money you can't go wrong, briggs and straton engine so cheap and cheerful.

Think in that size you are spoilt for choice. I went for the Krpan 17 tonne with winch. More than enough power for anything I have put under its blade. There are a series of videos but sadly all in German but you may be able to glean some good info from them. The winch in fantastic for the price
