Yup about a tonne ( front half of a defender ) the trucks 145 bhp so also got enuff power to not hold traffic up

Most towing accidents involve pick up trucks or 90,s as there too light on the back end

Its the best thing I could get to fit my 5 kids in & to tow an American Caravan, its right hand drive and 5.7 V8 auto

And you have to drop the Engine to change the spark plugs.

Just to bump an old thread, saw this video on youtube, Land Rover towing a large Ifor:

Does anyone use / are electric trailer brakes legal here? They are standard in Aus.

With an override switch in towing vehicle to manually apply trailer brakes without touching vehicle brakes. Easy way to pull yourself up if you start snaking.

Not uncommon in north America either but not legal for use on UK roads

the most amazing thing about american engines! how on earth can they manage to only get 145 bhp (and I presume that was when it left the facory, a few will have escaped by now) out of such a massive engine!:confused1:

I've similar power out of a 1.4 3cyl
