DLO Chargehand left a husky 560 on site yesterday.

 

He only discovered this morning that it was gone.

 

Suitable punishment?

 

Looking at written warning.

If it was a small firm he'd be paying for the replacement saw but we're ex Council DLO and his TUPE T&C's don't include the cost of replacing lost kit.

Neither a small firm, nor a large one, is empowered to deduct from wages for loss / breakages - there are elements like AIA in the tax return which take account of running costs for businesses.

 

Frustrating, infuriating, costly.... Yes of course.

 

Presuming it's a first occasion, the person is probably beating themselves up anyway.

One of the brother in laws lads left a £600 wacker plate on a tarmacking job and it was still there when they raced back. He got fed up of buying them rakes and shovels so he supplied the first and any after that they supplied themselves and they soon stopped leaving them behind and even started putting names on and cleaning them.

Have to confess to driving to the yard in the morning and realising that the chipper keys are back in the house 30 miles away (more than once 😫)

 

I always leave chipper keys in the ignition, i dont see the point of removing them due to the danger of forgetting them.
