Just watched it again, and i have to add that it really is a joy to watch those large pieces coming down with no fuss and soooo smoothly..........especially for someone like me for whom rigging is not a forte....

Excellent work Reg, another top quality vid as well. Appreciate you posting it on here, ta.

 

Near the end of the 2nd vid - never seen two blocks used in that way before, was that an experiment or a new technique for rigging bigger timber? looks like it works well anyway.

"Its ideal for heavier stuff low down, especially if you're having to slow them up quite abruptly....heavier sections yet easier on the rigging. The set-up obviously takes longer but is worth it, all things considered."

Great video.Always willing t pick up some new tips.Certainly plenty there.Did a similar takedown with the pull line on some DED elms last week.Sometimes you've just to make the best use of whats rounabout you eh.:001_smile:
