Haix lovers take note!!!

I had been wearing Haix Protector pro boots for the last 11 years or more, they are so comfortable, its like wearing your slippers to work. My feet were always warm, dry and comfortable. My only issue was how long they lasted, I occasionally got 12 months out of a pair, but often less. Given what they cost I would have like to get 18 month or 2 years out of a pair. Also the eyelets sometime snap off.

So bearing the above in mind I decided I would try something different this time. Many on here seem to like the meindl Airsteam's, so I tried a pair on at my dealers, they felt a good fit and looked well made, so a purchase was made.

I have been wearing them now for a little over a week, to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. They are awful. They are cold, the sole is so hard, I took out the insole they came with and put a gel one in, but its not really helped. The sides also feel hard and uncomfortable.

Boots are so personal...whats good for one might not be for another, the same with harnesses.

Now I like the airstreams, they fit my feet great & I also liked haix but I detest the p fanners big & clumpy!!

I've given up listening to recommendations on personal kit spent a fortune on stuff in the past & been very disappointed, one example is the Clark cut & climb....overhyped I reckon & not for me.

But that's my personal view, others say very different.

I find them comfortable but your feet get cold no matter how good your socks are.

For the money they are i didnt fancy chancing anything else and being dissapointed with boots at 190.00

But im open to suggestions when mine are done. Usually can hust about get to 18mths with them. Souls peel off and wear out easy :(

They're terrible in the winter, never had a pair of boots that make my feet so cold, I had to buy a different pair for winter months.

I think I will end up doing this, but know in reality if I have some Hiax on the rack I'll be reaching for them in the morning regardless of the time of year.

Haix or Meindl???

Sorry meindl on my 3rd pair i think :( must brake the ice at some point and try something else lol

I was told the haix will hurt your feet for a few weeks?

Everything seems so expensive nowadays

I thought boota used to be 160 or so and pants 140-160

Now you blow 200 on each! Sucks

I've never had that, mine were always like slippers straight out the box, they are stiff when new, makes driving a bit tricky, but soon bed in.

Ive got a long second toe,its longer than my big toe and meindl's are one of the few boots that dont rub my toe into a blister.Had the haix gortex boots before, good groundie boots but a bitch to climb in,just too bulky.

Ive no complaints with airstreams but theyre not the warmest in the cold.
