I have the reliability down of 880/088's as questionable ... They are one of worse saws I've seen with running problems and seizures for the actual amount of running time used.

Not had one my self but my bud did and I would tend to agree . Kept breaking down and in the end the bottom end went and was deemed an uneconomical repair . My 3120 never let me down . Sold it now.

There could be a lot of factors in that though stubby , have not used mine in six month.... Then it will get a hammering so obviously if you have sense you would rinse the tank of stale fuel before use but I bet many don't.

Personally I think a lot of issues with the 880 Stem from not being used enough or laid up for long periods hence why I have used Stihl Motomix from new , no issues here and runs sweet .
