Ascending with the zigzag?

I use a 60cm tape sling and a hand ascender and works bang on 👍🏼

A hand ascender as well you say? This gets better, will get on that too. Cheers for the sling length tip.

Not too sure if it will improve the set up but I might attach the tape to my bridge with it's own independant anchor ring. Perhaps it will make the clipping and unclipping of the bottom carabiner more straight forward?

Got a cambium saver, haven't used it yet though (started pissing it down both times before i could have another go). The adjustable bridge looks really good definitely will pick one of those up.

Those teeth on the pantin look really fierce, do they not damage the rope?

In a word no,its not teeth more like cams forcing the rope to zigzag back and forth against them locking the rope in position.Had mine lolered recently, inspector wrote monitor for stress fractures...how many mk 1's actually fractured...very few,ive got the mk3.

He's on about the pantin bro.

Yeah, they do add slightly more wear to the rope. Bit of fluffing. Nothing catastrophic though.

Been out to play with my kit a couple times now and while ascending isnt too difficult, no reason not to make it easier and quicker.

What do you use to make ascending with the zigzag easier?

Being a novice myself I use a pullysaver connected to a hand ascender..

You can get something of rhythm going with a bit of practice.

I was gonna get a foot ascender but thought, nah, lets get the basics right first...
