Not really getting off topic.

The original post and the Poll choices don't really match.

Its obvious that the person with the emergency needs to deal with it, but how do you work that when there are 3 people and 1 vehicle - that's what the poll choices are asking.

On Tapatalk, no poll....

Assumed the poll would correspond with the information in the OP.

Before I vote I'd like to know if getting home in time to watch Jeremy Kyle on TV is classed as an emergency?.... and Homes Under the Hammer.

Can anyone confirm this?

cheers, steve

No! Definitely not an emergency!! That's just a case of bad planning....

Should have stayed at home until after HUTH had finished!

Time of day has a relevance to the hypothetical scenario perhaps. If 1 has to leave in the only vehicle and the remainder are left behind, why not simply ring the guv'nor and explain circumstances and that some contingency is required to get them home after they've stayed on and done 3 men's work between 2 of them?

Haha!.... I dislike your 'emergency planning' scenario.

Actually, I do have a huge dislike for Mr Jeremy Kyle drivel, and Homes Under the Hammer nonsense.

All that daytime TV needs burning in a fiery hell pit. :

cheers, Steve

Hypothetical..ish question - If you have a member of staff or free lancer who has to leave a job for an emergency at home that is about an hour away. They are in a team of 3 and the job could go on without them.

What would you expect the team to do?

So it's an 'Emergency' rather than bit of an inconvenience, No question get them home asap by whatever means is quickest.

Assuming that's how you'd like it to be if it was your emergency

By the time you pack all your gear up and leave the site reasonably tidy, for all three to take him home there could have been a taxi waiting for the chap 'needing' to leave. He can get himself home just as swiftly. I don't see a problem with that.

If it's not possible, then it's unfortunate that a real emergency has to be dealt with. And then he can try to work extra hard for a while to help pay back a bit. Fair enough.
