That's what I think they are worth. it is the same round here firms sending climber and a groundie out with van and chipper for £300 -£400 a day and it's not enuf the groundie will be on £50 and climber £80 a proper tree surgery team should be £500 minimum there's to meny willing to under cut!afew of my mates are plumbers sparckeys and teacher and wouldn't even think about setting off for less that £150 a day tree work deserves To be the same level

It deserves to be the same level but people don't understand nor care, it's just a tree to them, most people ive spoken to also have no idea how dangerous it is.

I wonder if plumbing/sparking can demand wages like that because everybody knows you don't go with a guy who doesn't have all the correct certs and stuff, the same can't be said about tree work.

Lots of people with chainsaws and not enough trees to cut.

Plus its easy for anyone to get a van and chainsaw, do all the easy stuff that are good earners for cheap and get a subby climber in to do anything that requires a bit of skill.I dont think it works quite like that with most other professional trades, well the better paid ones anyway.

premium no accident = £500

50 percent discount for no claims =£250

Premium accident = £600

Still got 50 percent discount for no claims = £300

Spoke to a friend today who works for an insurance company and he said yes any incident does need to be mentioned and no it wouldn't effect your no clams.

Sorry if I got on anyone's nerves just wanted to clear it up for my own personal peace of mind, so I know what to do if needed.

Thanks for the help people

On this whole topic the boss man put in a quote a few days ago for a big conifer fell. By wires, sheds and a monster drag. Dense tree about 70ft. Put in a quote for £1050, a full day for 4 men, plus a morning getting the logs out do 2 men.

I saw the job and would have said he got the quote spot on, maybe a little cheep. But heard today that he didn't get the job as someone went in for £500. I have no idea how whoever quoted this thought that's a good price, unless he is massively underpaying his workers.
