I think it's hits home harder as we get older and people we grew up with pass away, I remember in 1974 an 11 year old in the car with my mother driving to school listening and laughing with Wogan in the morning.

When he didn't do Children in Need I thought it must be serious.

That's just it, most of us around 50 remember his voice on the radio and latterly TV from primary school schools days.

Terry belongs to a very select group of mankind, those who no one can find a bad word to say about them. A unique talent, RIP

RIP indeed- sad day for BBC radio. For those who live in the Devon area- Tony Beard from BBC radio Devon (and generally legendary Devonian)- has also passed away at a similar age.

 

 

Yes very sad day Terry Wiogan was a great All rounder tv and radio sadly missed

 

And also Tony Beard as Matthew said a great character on radio Devon for 30+years and a true gent a local hero
