  1. Still looking for someone, email if your interested.
  2. Looking for a Groundsman to join our team, experience not massively necessary but some level of outdoor experience would be preferred. Qualifications again would be preferred but training would be happily supplied to a good keen candidate! Email - [email protected]
  3. Looking for groundy's with appropriate tickets for a small clearance job starting on Monday for one week. I know it's short notice so it's a bit of a long shot but whether you have one day or a week we can probably work with that. Good rates of pay given. Email [email protected] Text 07936411790 Cheers
  4. Hi Looking for qualified arborists and groundsmen in north Cumbria. Email - [email protected] Look forward to hearing from you.
  5. Mr fox has to up there for me who gave me inspiration to get out there and do what I love doing. There is a load of genuine spot on people on here who make the forum what it is, good thread 👍
  6. Yer I think ours is great machine and chips well but on jobs where there is a few men on the ground feeding it they have to cue up as it can take a while to get bigger stuff through it, but that is to be expected to be fair to it. Looking to sell it in the near future.
  7. Taken on board, thank you for your advice. 😉
  8. What would make me happy is a forst st6 😂😂
  9. Cheers Ty Yer I am pretty keen to develop it and I feel I have got the bit between my teeth sort of speak. Your right about the waste management thing also, it's something I need to develop further also. At the minute I need to drive a fair bit to get rid of chip for free. My trucks are a bit tired but very presentable they will have to do for now. Chipper first!!!
  10. Orchard

    RIP Terry

Yer a very sad day, hope the bbc do something special for him.
  11. Ideally i just want to be part of a 3 man team with subbies to make 4 or more whenever required. But I still want the capacity to cope with this amount of staff. The idea being that the 2 men can do jobs by themselves on jobs where it allows. This is when I could price jobs etc.
  12. I will enlighten you a bit further, basically the two contracts we have won are going to require me to have regular labour whether its employed or subbed in, its cast a big question over whether my little greenmech arborist 130 is up to the job especially when there will be multiple ground crew feeding it. My chipper is only 6 months old so dont want to sell it and loose a load on it but i also dont want to be in a situation where i cant get jobs done efficiently as my chipper becomes a bottle neck. So if i go out and sell my chipper and buy a bigger machine then i will need to get finance on the upgrade cost, this is further monthly costs which will certainly hurt if i cannot sustain the work load that the chipper requires to pay for itself. This is why i ask the question do i force or let the business grow naturally? As i have been forcing it and i have put myself into a position where i now ideally need to invest to allow it to still run smoothly and efficiently where as if i hadnt i would still have been ticking along with my small but functional setup. Any points of view from other peoples past experiences would be appreciated.
  13. Is it best to let a business grow itself and be there to invest and support it as it grows or do you push growth? Some people i know in non arb related businesses who run very respectful businesses say let it grow itself but I cant see how this can happen. I have just won two contracts which I have had to work my arse off to get, so surely I have pushed growth myself. Have people who have found themselves where they are today got there by constantly pushing their business forward in order to develop it or is it a case you find yourself in a situation where you need to expand and grow to keep up with demand?
  14. this is ours from the other day we took 10 of these loads out to the truck we had to walk about 40 meters with it, it took about 2 hours imagine if it was by hand!! An amazing bit of kit, it's heavy but it needs to be, saves a lot of back ache.
  15. I asked the same question you did a few years ago and got the same answer ...... Buy a Collins field guide! Get out and about and learn them it's the best way! Or go to an arboretum and look around, trees will be labeled there where you can see for yourself.
  16. To be fair to the cs100 it would throw stuff further than my arborist 130 sometimes!!!!
  17. Struggling to find how the settings can be adjusted for the no stress system. Does anyone know?
  18. The other thing that won't help the situation is the massively long draw bar/a frame. It could easily be a foot shorter which would help.
  19. The chip grade is small, it's on 66 hours now and I have just fitted a new set of blades after rotating the old ones a couple of times. I think from memory it's about 2750 when on full throttle.
  20. Loving the simplified diagram Mr git 😂😂😂
  21. Thanks for putting the video up as this one sounds totally different to mine, and mine takes loads longer to come back up to speed after the no stress kicks in.
  22. My 130 arborist doesn't seem to have speed roller speed settings I think it's just one fixed speed. Buy your right you get bigger bits going far then the rest just spits out at a pretty low rate.
  23. Now your just making me feel bad 😒
