Spark plug condition ?

Winter plug open ?

Condition of bar & chain (what spec) ?

Clogged cylinder cooling fins ?

Clogged spark arrestor screen ?

 

A music ear should be able to record under which conditions the saw has been run, and whether the chain is sharp enough to keep the rpm speed high enough to achieve a good torque, thereby letting the saw work optimal.

 

The saw could have developed an air leak over time, maybe even only appearing when the saw is heated up due to thermal expansion of parts. An air leak test on crankcase and other critical component may exclude or reveal ...

Cant comment on the saw Mark, I'm not a Huskie man, but its either a faulty saw, faulty operator or faulty fuel.

 

My specialist subject is Aspen, and I have absolute faith in Aspen2 FRT, but is he definitely using FRT, or maybe has stock of the pre FRT version. If so, it wont be stale but it will have less engine protection due to lower spec oil.

 

Or could he, like a few Arbtalkers, using Aspen 4 and mixing their own stock of oil, if so,what quality oil and what mix?

 

Or is he maybe lifting your leg and not actually using Aspen all the time? The carbon deposits indicate this. Maybe a staff member is moonlighting with the saw and using his own 12 month old Tesco fuel with market stall oil.

 

Or maybe the saw is being used for tasks beyond its capability, running a high duty cycle on constant overload.

 

Just thoughts.

I would agree, if there is any fuel there to test.

And if it was petrol rather than Aspen at the point of seize it may have been purged with Aspen prior to taking to the dealer if there was intent to 'leg lift'

 

Anyway, as I said, Just Thoughts.

Evening all. It's my saw and sadly somethings not right with it. Switched all my stihl saws over to husky and they've all since day one been run on Aspen2. Nothing gets lent to staff and there's no way they've ever put oil in the fuel tank, added extra 2 stroke etc. Mark and Barry have been brilliant but I'm starting to get a bit peeved having to keep sending the saw back for repairs. It's not their fault and I expect husky to deal with this in a professional manner. Saw's being sent back over the weekend so will have a better idea once mark gets it back.
