can you get chainsaw trousers legs taken up

as in making the leg less length as i never find saw trousers in my leg length so i buy a pair there two long and don't wear them due to tripping up in them and having my heal under my toes as there that long i have a few pairs now and never find the leg lengths accurate to the adds

Errr I wouldn't listen to that advice as I don't think that's a very good idea. I'm fairly sure if you start cutting or sewing the blocking material you may regret it later if you rely on it to stop a chainsaw!

 

You can get some chainsaw trousers in short leg lengths, just look at some of the ads on the right.

pair scissors and hem em up.. five minute job if you can find someone with a sewing machine..

Altering them is a Baaaad idea.

 

The blocking material is held inside compartments within the garment

if the person altering them gets it wrong they just wont work.

 

Not to mention the fact that any warranty EN and CE marks go out the window

While i'm sure altering them will ruin any kite marks and may affect there performance.

 

Ur only cutting the bottom couple of inches so any loss in performance probably doesn't matter as much as ur boots will be protecting ur feet anyway.

 

Could u not turn them up inside (possibly make them to bulky) or outside and sow the seem so doesnae fill with sawdust, so in theory not cut anything

Hi I know exactly what you mean I am quite short and fat ish so the larger the size the longer the leg one pair that I did try on the knee pads were on my ankels eventually got some to fit then got bigger so back in the same boat , nightmare , it would be cool if you could get them alterd maybee sthill would offer a talioring service

Common sense will prevail :thumbup: If you cut 4" off the bottom to stop them dragging in the mud and tripping you up they will be safer and if still over your boots how can there be a problem ?
