Cool vid James,
Looks like a good finish.
Whats that track playing?

It always looks shiny in the photos as I had only just applied the oil which is a satin finish.

Its called Peace of mind by Blue cheer. Awesome track, way before my time but I have a fetish for music from that era!

Some pictures of a bed I made over 3 months last year. Mostly elm but with some ash and oak. I'm not exactly sure how many hours went into it. I tend to just do a couple of hours at a time.

It's very solid, very heavy.

Like pretty much everything I make it was all done a bit at a time. No drawings. Just sort of a rough idea in mind, make a start and then see where things go.

Heres a time-lapse of my router sled

Looks good. What router bit do you use? And what's the attachment and bars you've got on the router? Havn't seen that before...

Hi there, got myself a cheap mill from ebay for my birthday- Royston ramps I think - and spent the day milling this beech. Nice bit of spalting in there, wish I'd cut the tree a foot lower though! Pretty new to this, done a few wee things with small log mill before, but have to say I'm hooked already!

Watch this space!

Cheers Mark

Aye, already got someone interested in a chunk to make a coffee table... even though I explained they were just felled last month.! In that note, any advice on seasoning times? I reckoned maybe a year  in the big carving shed (byre) at the farm.
