Considering the kit we run £800 for that conny is fair however there are simply too many people willing to do it for alot less so 550 is top line round me.

750 for the Ash for me in grinding.

I would price that work for 1 day.

You must know what you are talking about to the customer, and be very confident.

I had a tree surgery company myself and I never lost a lot of jobs, and still my prices was on the high side. I always explain my experience and I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to trees.

My price on that would be.

Taking tree down and tidy up. 50 pounds for petrol and diesel for van, 120 pounds for your employee, 200 for yourself, and 100 for putting by for expansion. that's 470 pounds, and grind the stump for 200 pounds.

Padman, I don't respond to this type of thread but...

To me it looks like you price top dollar (or more) for a service without a rescue climber, so what other h&s corners are being cut? If I was you go cheap you aren't competing with companies that do comply with h&s regs etc, who have over heads that you don't. I suspect that a labour won't be on much a day, therefore your taking a big wedge out of this job.

The ash, by the way 1/2day 2 men, lorry with crane, grinding extra.

For which you would charge how much?

Conifer a day 2 men, ash 1\2 day plus grinding. Rates are not important as it sorry of depend on where you are, your set up etc. I'd start at about £550 a day and vary as required.

£400, half a day with three blokes.0800-13-00. Then onto the next job. Nice job for the morning.

That's my pricing strategy though. That price is for my company, my overheads, my profit margins, etc etc etc.

Hi, what makes you think he has no OVER HEADS TO PAY ? what makes you think he is cutting corners on H&S , you are surmising. Like the rest of us he WILL have Bills to pay and possibly a family which to me are Overheads . Has to a rescue climber are you going to tell Us all you have never done a Tree job without a rescue climber and that includes anything that classed has working with heights ie over 6ft etc without a Rescue climber, risk assessment, method statement.
