One other bit of advice .....Stove only , not open fire . Spits and pops like fire works !

 

Agreed, Stove only...split when green with no real problems.

Had some seasoned for 2 years and it was like iron.

Gave a nice pleasant aroma when I left a few smaller bits near to the stove.

Is eucalyptus hardwood or softwood??

 

Hardwood,

 

Dozens of variety's, but obviously many less in the uk.

 

Only had it twice, but great firewood & stump wood makes top wedges..

I get loads of Euca wood , horrible to work with when wet especially when taking down ,can be a Bitch to cut when cutting main trunk , easy to split when green but the turns into Granite in no time .
