Delivering firewood in pouring rain?

Do most of you still deliver logs if it is pouring with rain?

I am sure many of you deliver drier logs than me (25%plus"),but do you still deliver your really dry logs to customers when it is pouring with rain ,unless they can be tipped in a dry garage etc?

Great to go to the effort of delivering dry logs,and then the customer lets them get soaked, then SAYS the logs delivered to me are soaking wet !!!:thumbdown:

Very true, a week in the log store of a day indoors and they will be dry again and ready to burn!

I quite agree,BUT the "new life style woodburning stove user " does not see it like that. Hope you agree,thanks for your reply.

Yes best time to do it "logs were dry when they left the yard"

A tarp sheet springs to mind.. get your customers to get one for when you deliver their wood..

Use a tarp? Could the customer give you a deposit for it?

It's been raining for 2 weeks solid in South Wales now and it looks like it's going to be another week of rain this week, I would be out of business if I didn't deliver anything in 3 weeks! I do get a few people order and ask if I can deliver it in the dry but at the end of the day we live in the UK so if you have a woodburner and want wood in October/November there is a very high chance it will be raining! I do have a little joke/dig and say "you should have bought it in July"
