Cooper SST vs Kumho KL71

After some new tyres for my discovery as I'm getting fed up of getting stuck on wet grass. And getting round the woods in winter is going to be important for me. I'm torn between these tyres and there is little to split them on price. Which is the better tyre in people's experience? I'm keen to keep some decent road manners and improve puncture resistance compared to my current road tyres

Cooper SST were second on my list after BFG Mud terrains and I have never heard anything but positive about them.

I did also consider the Cooper ST Maxx, I really liked the look of those as an all rounder?

The Kumho however is some Mud Tyre, Natural England's Toyota Hi Lux would get around pretty well on them, and you know they are about as good off road as a Wacker Plate!

hmmm so general consensus is the kumho's I think I would actually need to go for the cooper SST pro to get the right size for an un-modified discovery as nearly all the tyre options are to tall or wide for a standard disco 2 wheel arch.

Both are a good looking tyre but I think you would be better off putting a set on a second set of rims and swapping over for just the winter months, perhaps keep your road tyres on rims for the summer or when you sell it. These aggressive treads are great for what you intend to use them for but not for general road or high speed motorway work.
