Mine is still ok but only ever had Aspen in it . Oil does seem to wick up the spout and weep a little .

Yup, I've seen two husky fuel can spouts stick as well (two separate owners). Both are on good quality forecourt fuel. I expect mine will do the same too.

 

Is anybody else tiring from poorly designed products from all of the leading manufacturers (in and outside of arborculture)?

 

 

Yea I am, think they call it not fit for purpose. See it far to often in threads on here. Be very interested to know if they read them and to it on board?

same here sure you can strip them down an get them working again but doesn't last forever till it goes back to its old ways i just buy a new spout every 6 month now

Just been reading the £20 Glasgow Tree Surgeon Ripoff thread, and learned that "Husqvarna Combi Can" is a euphamism for something, but nobody wants to say???

 

Anyway, my can has been ok, bought it in march. But I broke the oil spout, got it stuck in the oil-tank mouth of my 254 and wouldn't come out, tugged and the fecker pulled off. Upon close examination, one side of a small plastic flange had broken off, but there's enough there to hold it, if Im gentle with it , and its been working ok.

You'd think petrol had acid in it the way some people seem to think these days! A fuel can a few months old couldn't have degraded due to a petrol surely! I've got cans years old that don't have a problem, this is just a design/ build quality issue

 

 

It does! The ethanol readily converts to ethanoic acid

Mine does the same at the petrol spout and seeps oil from the oil spout, total crap, i thought they had made an improvement from the last can they made but this one has its own set of problems, i only bought it as it held the tools in place but I'm back to holding tools while pouring with my old stihl can.

I only use forecourt fuel so thats interesting regarding the aspen.
