Had an interestign chat with a trainign provider the other day, which got me thinking.

As I'm trying to move my career over to arb, I'm puttign myself on or through training. Currently waiting to get on my C30 and 31. I'm waiting for the learning agreement from Capel for the online RFS level 2.

What else would you want, bearing in mind I don't have a lot of experience.

If someone turned up asking for work experience / becoming a trainee / groundie job what would you want?

C30/31 is prettyy much a given.

C38?

Chipper?

Grinder?

ISO 3103?

Strong of back and weak of mind!

From a groundies point of view, thick skin, common sense and sensor humour, a certain level of intuition/sixth sense to know what your climber wants before he wants it, and the two things that really bug me, one an understanding of compression and tension and ability to read it in a laid tree or branch and two the knowledge to put a gob cut in based on the lean/weighting of a tree and wind direction and not just because you want to fell it that way because it suits you, how so many people have passed cs30/31 is beyond me lol
