As the worlds second biggest polluter and the largest consumer of oil on the planet I can't help thinking its a bit hypocritical to get on their high horse about this issue. Got a bit of the Deepwater Horizon smell to it! Let's go after another company that ain't American, sue the **** out of them and look like we are the great environmentalists!!

Hi Jon,

It's no surprise to me at all, successive so called 'green' iniatives have tried to discredit it diesel over a number of years. I believe the fuel should be refined to produce less particulates, not the engine mucked up until it does.

The sad reality now is that diesel cars are fitted with a particulate filter system that does nothing for the environment, it stores up crap in cities & pumps it out on a longer run in the country, if it was in a rubbish bag, you'd call it 'fly tipping'.

This often fails prematurely, cuases engine problems & is expensive to repair. Only the derranged, utterly senseless, retarded EU beaurocratic seat polishers could come up with such a useless contraption.

No wonder they tried a work round, Im sure they're not alone.

The yanks are skint bigstyle and are looking for foreign companies to fill their empty coffers! VW will be near bankrupted by the time their finished with them. Everyone and anyone will be encouraged to sue them free of charge in multiple class suits and if VW want to sell cars in the US in the future they will have to bend over and take it.
