Any ones that will do brambles / smaller blackthorn on a fergy 35?

More to do with flail choice then the make of mower. Any should do but for blackthorn I’d want swinging t flails, heavier the better.

We use this head, its a Port Agric Scimitar 5 foot deck with swinging flails, machine is driven by gearboxes so no belt slippage good up to about 25mm. sadly Port Agric are no longer trading, but the Major cyclone is similar but need more power to run, (we have one of these too) Kevlar belted tyres all round as well, top mower is JD 1545 31hp, bottom machine is a 1580 38 hp mower.

Does anyone use or have any feedback on the towed flail mowers? Ive considered getting one to tow behind the b7100 as i would like to cut the grass less frequent and the topper struggles when its got too long.

Can’t see why you’d want a trailed flail mower rather than linkage mounted. Way more hassle to manoeuvre.

I use a Wessex 1.2 meter 4 wheel tow behind my quad mower, obviously not a pto job, has about 60 almost L shaped flails on a pivot. Does the job I ask it to do perfectly, which is cut about an acre of rough grass once a month. Just had all the flails off a couple of weeks ago and sharpened them and put them back on with new pivot bolts.

Its about time to give it a try but I’m trying to hold off for no mow may.

I use a 1.1m topper on a 17 ish horsepower compact tractor. Does a good, efficient job on blackthom, bramble, carpet, plant pots, the edge of a sheet of wiggly tin... (The latter 3 were by accident, but I'm surprised how powerful it is). The finish it leaves isn't super neat, but it would be better if I mowed with slower ground speed, I imagine. Or mowed more often.

I bought a couple of Winton machines to go behind a small New Holland compact tractor., a stone burier and a flail mower. That little tractor has no problem powering these.
