Have you looked at steel scaffold towers? The price of them isn't too bad.

I've got a set I sometimes use on hedges, find it much easier to work off than a ladder

if ya got veeeehickle access then ya cud erect the tower in an Ifor Williams trailer to make moving it easy, this i do with some hedge customers.

if you have already got a tower you can make a dolly base with pneumatic tyres to sit it on with a lock on device

now you my friend are a genius thats a good idea

so purchase like a speed scaffold?

I was thinking the same thing. I'm all for cracking on and getting the job done, but just be aware of the problems you could potentially be getting yourself in to. How uneven is the terrain? Is a tracked mewp out of the question?

I've just purchased a Henchman 14 ft tripod ladder with adjustable feet on all 3 legs. Got a lot of hedge work on at the the moment on sloping ground, and for just under £500.00 the first two jobs have paid for it - really stable, great to be able to work each position at a different setting as you move along. Leg adjustment easy, carriage very light.

Goes on top of the Ranger with roofbars no worries.

Actually makes the tricky hedge jobs that I used to dread straight forward and dare I say - enjoyable.........

If your having to even think about making scaffolding your doing something wrong! Price the job to get proper equipment in, if they don't want to pay for said equipment walk away and let someone else have the hassle and possibly serious injury!
