Bent pines

For some reason I had this picture in my head.

Me too , I have seen a lot of distorted pines in the Czech Republic and was told it was snow damage to young trees I think the guy was not to sure either...but I seriously doubt there has been any serious snow in Bedfordshire since the early 80's but it could be possible.

Here's a poor quality iPhone shot.

Taking shots of the whole forest just doesn't come out, but there are literally hundreds like this all at pretty much the same height.

No topping has been carried out, Peter is banned from Centreparcs.

I wondered if they'd been battered by wind or snow when they were much younger, but recovered and grew straight above some crazy reaction wood, but some of the stems don't exhibit any thickening.

It's pretty weird to see it on this scale.ImageUploadedByArbtalk1432487883.243170.jpg.b6373f67d38c7f2c0921925bc48922d0.jpg

I went to Woburn Centreparcs several weeks ago too Mark.

I didn't notice any trees at all.

I was aghast at the chav hoards and the horrific prices! My boys went on the quad bikes. £64 for 20 minutes. I was furious!!

The indoor swimming paradise was great, if you like bouncing off the overweight unwashed and being ankle deep in varucas.

However, I bought booze.
