Fings wot broke

That really is a week of it!
I was just looking through some of my photos and it feels like I've only been doing mechanicals for the last month!
In no particular order:
New bushes, anti roll bars, drive flanges, calipers, pads and discs on defender.
Front prop, power steering pipe, mot on discovery
200tdi engine and mk3 gearbox out of the hilux tipper, mk4 engine and gear box to go in!
Stump grinder, lots of tightening up and adjusting.
Various small tool repairs. 
Service digger.
Various repairs on mates defenders.
Obviously the list is nowhere near done! 
And I need to get the quad bike fired up tomorrow, for the first time in a year!!

That shaft looks like a dog chewed it!
It doesn't take long for the list of jobs to mount up.. the list of small equipment jobs is depressing. Recoils, chain brakes, tuning, cleaning and sharpening.. must have 20 half used chains lying around. The break downs always get seen to quickly, it's the wear and tear jobs that linger, here anyway.

That shaft looks like it bounced off the road and gearbox for a hundred yards!

You're spot on about breakdown's being done quickly- after the prop went I was driving again in 2wd 40minutes later and replaced it that afternoon. But the used chain pile never gets any smaller!!

One of the snotty old transits died  , pump packed up and it had death rattle on start up.Attacked it today and put another pump on it and treated it to a new timing chain kit. All done , got to love the Transits, everything on them is so cheap and easy to do

Just caught the digger in time, could easily have bent the ram..
An easy fix in the end, got a plate made up and added a bit of strength, no photo of the fix, it's not rusty enough to look like the rest of the machine yet!

gotta love 'a dagenham dustbin',  as Bob says they are cheap to fix and easy enuf to work on. Reckon i'm gonna pull the injectors on my MK6 soon and have them tested / replaced as it's a bit lame atm.

It's fairly local, I think.
have seen it before but don't have a name to go with it.. two youngish lads looking shook enough standing down the road from it. No injuries from what I know.
