Fings wot broke

Recommended Posts

Botex strip down, started with a leaky ram then found pin collar was all but cracked off then found a tiny crack in bit it go's onto so whole slew casting is going to have to come off the king post to split them and strengthen it up a bit, the simple jobs never stay

Did the slew casting repair ok John?

Started leaking in quite a spectacular way, luckily Dan the man had one in stock. Only problem was the drain hole has been welded up, so had to be taken out 3/4's full.

Is that a 90 tank Mr Girdle ?

A quiet week this week for us.

Chipper overheating, suspect Rad blocked but looks clear to workshop for investigation weeks before a big job.

Cutter head bearings gone on Carlton.

Tipping gear weak on Unimog suspect pump dying.

Fan belt on Unimog toast- in our parts stock so simple fix

Oil leak from somewhere getting worse, fuel leak somewhere getting worse.

Cabstar won't charge battery new alternator.

Idler hearing gone on 2.3 ton Takeuchi digger.

Engine gone on water bowser fed up of fixing it new one ordered.

Fuel leaking into sump of pressure washer.

Leak from axle of another Unimog portal hub seal gone potentially.

CTIS gone on another Unimog air lines full of crude, disconnected for now, along with air leak probably related to gunk in air lines.

If only all weeks were this quiet on the maintenance front.

That will keep the fitter busy for a few minutes :001_smile:

Two chippers down

Spline hub in the rollers on the tw150 . Either fall out or will put up a fight. Noticed the new style hubs have a thread so you can use a draw bolt (about time but there should be three:thumbdown:)

Glued on a bit nut

Changed the bush, just drive a wood screw through them and they pop out

The tracked chippers loom caught alight when it chaffed through on the corner of the engine, dont know why timberwolf dont use p clips instead of cable ties:thumbdown:

Wasn't the main casting thankfully as that would have been a much bigger problem, it was where I'm pointing in this picture 8608976ac3e0655e7be1442339eee83e.jpgbut on both sides, drilled the end of the crack, cut a decent v into it and filled with weld on a high power, then had T pieces welded above for an extra bit of strength, got both main rams resealed and 1 needed a new rod so had it done at same time which came in at 300 Inc vat which I was very happy with. All back together now to find somehow we had managed to put a crack/dint in the pto pump gearbox so out with the drill and some apoxy liquid mettle stuff so will see if that's worked when it's out next week shifting some big beech logs.

Fixed with some epoxy (with glow in the dark dust mixed in)

Now that's a propper man mug, you should be proud of that 😁

I am, very proud!

It's one of the few tools that get used every single day of the year!

Whoops...

My bro had one of them ssanyongs, the 2.9 was not a patch on the 2.7 engine in them, but swapping them over was too involved to bother so he got a landcruiser instead.

Full site shutdown until repair completed I expect? Will there be an investigation? I assume it passed it's morning inspection? :001_tt2::001_tt2:
