They did, didn't they?

Didn't they bail the banks out to some extent.

Anyway, no one trudges in pig shite fixing the roof when they can be rolling in the hay while the sun is shining.:001_smile:

And I don't believe a single person who says they will.

Not sure thats true. Didn't the tories under John Major hang onto some of our gold reserves during the early nineties recession? It was Blair and Brown who sold the lot.

Is this where people who own and run their own business, make a very nice living, own their own houses and go on exotic holidays claim to be working class?

Yes, I own and run may own business, have a mortgage, have been on exotic holidays these last two years but if I didn't work i couldn't survive therefore I am working class as I have to work.

Don't the middle class have to work?

Not if they're what i would call middle-class.

I've never looked into any definitions of the classes but I would consider someone middle-classed if they had enough assets that they could potentially survive on without working.

I don't and therefore have to work, therefore working class.

The middle class still work, even most of the upper class work.

Its about the kind of work they do.

In many ways those on benefits are the new working class, yet they don't work.

Also we used to have the idle rich, but maybe now its the idle poor :001_huh:

You're middle class, come and join us in our hot tub, we'll put Coldplay on the sound system and plan our next skiing holiday together.
