As above I am getting a used ms 260 with a 16" bar this weekend and as mentioned in a post last week these saws seem to do good money on eBay ect so why is this saw so highly rated and are there any problem's asosiated with this model

Clutch needle roller bearing probs ? Been loads about it on here .

Found our's to be a bit wheezy on 16" bar, seemed to struggle - very slow.

Changed it to 13" and it was much happier and felt better balanced too.

Got to say I do prefer the 346XP as the MS260 just isn't so whizzy. I have found high hours machines can slap a bit on idle due to piston skirt wear!

 

The rest of the saw seems pretty strong bar the earlier model carbs as mentioned before!

It's probably my least liked pro saw of all time ,never had a positive experience with using one unless it was by the chipper, I even prefer the 261 over the 260 but it has a big following so most folks can't be wrong :)

Yeah they can Matty, they just won't admit it :laugh1:

 

It's not my cup of tea, but the odd times I've used one it did what it needed to, but as others have said, just not as rapidly as something like a 346.
