You can do 70 on the Mway, but restricted to 50 and 60 on none Mway roads.

It is on a motorway.

60 NSL dual

50 A-road

Not a lot of people know that....

I'm talking about my tipper.

I have no idea whether panel vans are classed differently.

Merc Sprinters have no speed restrictions whatsoever because they are Gernan.

Bloke down the pub said.

hi

did the speed awareness course a few year ago myself and i was shocked i'd been speeding for years without knowing !

from what i read in the highway code (which is basically law )

that it was all based on weight basically anything over 2t was not allowed to do over 50 on a national speed limit single carriage rd i spoke to the guys there and they confirmed it it had nothing to do with commercial vehicles ( might of missed something in one of the posts as i only skimmed over them )

I even said when did that change and he laughed and said actually it's always been there

I got done for doing 42 in a 50, fair play biggest waste of time ever.

Instructor didnt have a clue about anything other than a nissan micra.

I believe the limits for vans are applicable to vehicles over 3000kg gvw, ie a 2800kg renault trafic can do 70 on a dualie whereas my 3325kg gvw transit is 60. I think. Wasnt lostening to the crusty old fart on the course as he was just a janner.

We have a proper truck killer hill round here and apparantly when descending fully loaded you stay in top gear and ride the brakes all the way down. So when granny in her mobility scooter crosses the road at the bottom, your brakes are on fire so you run her over.

Im all up for educating people but at least have teachers that know something.
