Some people are just morons m8, they don't care how good a job you do, most of it comes down to price! i always find kicking the living **** out of something makes me feel a lot better about the situation, as does driving past and seeing 3 gypo vans and men with bow saws on the job u just lost

Legally you are within your rights to charge them, assuming they didn't cancel within 14 days of getting the quote.

However in reality this just happens from time to time.. just suck it up.

We have all probably done it to others: You are working on a street, a neighbour comes out and asks how much to do his tree, as you are right there you give him a good deal. You weren't to know that he had already booked someone else to do the job....

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
