Jonathan I,m really not interested in who youve worked for and seeing vets bills and the like . I just think on your original post of your dog being poorly you came across as is if times were hard and your were struggling ? Hence my donation . Im stating facts . Your just going over the top now by offering this that and the other ? When in reality you could of paid all bills yourself .......Just my gut feeling . I mean if any of my dogs were ill and the money was not there I for one would sort it out to the best of my ability on my own ...bank loan credit card or other . Regards Paul Bell

So why choose to donate??????? :confused1:Plenty didn't.

Why, oh why would you donate and then take this attitude????????????:confused1:

Seems a bit harsh donating money them moaning about it 9 months later. Big j seems a decent hard working fella who never once begged for money of anyone it was people been generous and helping a fellow arbtalker out who was in hard times. So what if he's doing better now thats how work goes it can go from bad to **** to great in the blink of a eye. Glad your business is on the up big j I'm shure you have worked bloody hard this last 9 months to turn things around and Realy pleased the dogs doing well

I've had a lot of "gut feelings", I've not always been right!

Isn't that what he was doing? Selling kit to fund the treatment of his dog?????

So he was "skint" might have been sitting on a load of green wood but I'm sure the vet wouldn't accept that as payment so that's irrelevant. Sold some kit he could manage without, paid the vet, saved te dog, then nearly a year later sells produce to your value of 15k, yet I'm sure no part of that produce was free???

Seems like you begrudge him bouncing back

BigJ did you look into transport costs for a container, Sweden to you?

I spoke to about 3 different haulage companies down in Lincolnshire, and not one of them got back to me with a bloody price. It coincided with doing more elm sourcing up north, so it got forgotten. The frustration from my point of view is that speaking to other sawmills, continental elm isn't deemed to be as valuable as it's comparatively plain, lacking extensive figure, pip or burr. Consequently, it's hard to get a very good price for it.

I'll see if I get a few minutes this week to chase it up again. Even if I don't make very much from it, at least it would be getting sawn rather than chopped up for burning!

And thanks all for support regarding this rather unpleasant thread :001_smile:

What happened to that elm u come down here for mate

Getting cut on Thursday next week (finally!).

Had a chap come all the way up from Cornwall for it earlier in the year. Sent him loads of photos (he's a boatbuilder), measurements etc. He got there and decided it wasn't quite clean enough - wasted trip for the both of us.

I'll post some photos up on this thread when it gets milled. Quite excited to see it cut finally, as it's been sat at Helmdon for quite a while.
