Dolmar 420 will be the biggest bargain by far; at a guess

Ive got the makita ea4300, and love it. ideal for small firewood production.

Stihl MS170 brand new with a warranty £160-£170 , keep the chain bob on all the time and you will be amazed what a little saw will cut ,they are tough too and will take a heavy knock ,i have got two MS170s and swear by them for smaller jobs .

Yeah, but then you'd wish you had the MS241!

 

All those little saw weigh the same but there's a big difference in power (and price)

 

I tried my mates 211 and it was good, but not £100 better than my 181

Echo cs450 is a good saw, Husqvarna 135 is also good if you want something cheaper. I have the Echo and use it for work while my other half's Dad has the Husky which he uses for logging with no complaints.

My 135 is fine, nice cheap alternative for a bit of domestic firewood cutting. It cuts quick enough with the 14" bar on it.
