when i was 17 and cut about 10 ton a year i used the axe,now im 50 and do 300 tons i only use axe for knocking stuck logs off splitter.in reality if it goes throgh processor thats the way if it dont then splitter.:thumbup:jake

When I was 18 ...axe . Now I'm 62 ( almost ) mechanical splitter .

 

HI STUBBY on a cold winters day i love using a good axe:thumbup1: it has to be the right one:thumbup1: or i will not use it as your only wasting your time thanks jon :thumbup:

Hypocrite here. Was raving about how fast an axe was just 18 months back now total convert to 18 ton vertical splitter. Axe is now rusty and only used to split logs for moisture testing.

Anyone tried a Fiskars X27? I've got a Stihl maul and hate the damn thing. Dread picking it up.

 

Yes, they're great axes, far better than anything else I've used.

I'm close to 50 and I'm half and half axe and splitter
