I put some mud/snow tyres on a Cabstar's a few years ago, didn't help one bit, it still slipped and slided everywhere. Saying that cabstar's slide if you drive one past a discarded banna skin.

Put snow tyres on my Cabstar last year and I think there was an improvement, I drive offroad with it quite a lot too.

Not saying it will go across a ploughed field but it aint too bad.

HI,

I need some new rear tires on the van, and have been looking around for something wit a bit more grip as I live in the middle of nowhere, and the roads get muddy etc.

I found these on eBay, as my local guy wasnt much help:

SINGLE 185R14 102L KINGPIN KMS VAN COMMERCIAL MUD & SNOW TYRE 18514C 185/80R14 | eBay

Has anyone got or used these, or similar, basically is it worth it or should i just go for normal tyres?

Cheers

Leo

HI LEO no need to worry about snow it to warm mate it rain here in somerset with floods thanks jon

What is it with bf Goodrich, they are way over priced and I often think folk just buy them for the white writing on the wall,

I work Cooper, they are excellent grip and reasonably priced.

What is it with Coopers, don't people want to pay the extra to get Bf Goodrich?

Each to their own I think?

Eddie.

The thing with Coopers is they are bloody good and cost less than BF . Also if you want the white writing you can have it as they come with it one side and are not directional . :001_smile:

I have no issue with whatever tyres people run or why, but I'd rather hear practical experiences of how they perform/handle, than a veiled pop at people who decide to choose the Bf option.

The Bf's have nothing to prove to anyone in my experience, and if others match or exceed them they are also very good tyres.

Who give a toss if there's writing on the side or not when you're trying to drag your Ifor across a wet field?

I was given the option of lettering in or out on my Bf Mud terrains.

Eddie I dont give a toss about the white lettering either . Some one asked about it . I have 3 sets of Coopers now . Not sure on mileage but they seem to lasty me about 2 and a half years . I know that is up in the air a bit but I change my oil and filter every 6k and that happens sorta mid summer and mid winter so roughly 12k a year so 2.5 year 28 K ? . Call it 30K as its a bit cyclic on the twice a year .
