Realy?

Doing some hedging last week with my old Husky 340. I run it on Aspen as it does not come out very often. It was a still day and the smell made me feel sick so went back to regular fuel.

I agree, aspen smells wierd and nauesating to me. But not as bad as Stihl HP.

Can't beat the smell of 2 stroke.

Aspen smells awful

I counteract the harmful effects of 2 stroke mix with a cigarette

lol :lol::lol::lol:

I have noticed a real change over the last 2 years with regards to 2stroke oils

As more people use the higher grade and higher cost oils because they know they are better.

Using super unleaded and low soot oil or racing oil means the extra cost of Aspen is not much more.

Please sign the petition and help make Aspen even more affordable.

I run my H' 545 on Aspen and generally dodn't notice the smell. But recently got to cut a pallet load of Swedish candles. With the exhaust not dispersing as freely, I got to smell it. And though I didn't feel ill, I would say, breathing in exhaust isn't all it's cracked up to be. And it made my eyes burn.

So far as exhaust goes, I sort of miss the smell like fried bacon, that was Castrol in old scramblers & trials bikes.

Still available in various guises, most common and practical is Castrol A747 but you can still get Castrol "R" as well which is straight castor oil or as our American friends like to refer to it "bean oil".

Has the advantage that with extremely high heat or high piston speed applications it will maintain a film of lubrication that wee bit longer than any other lubrication substance known to or manufactured by man, but most of the time you'll be much better with a full synthetic.

And not wanting to start something but there are plenty of others about every bit as good as Redline.

If you have run 2stroke mix and switch to Aspen it may take 2-3 tanks of fuel to burn off the old 2stroke oil.

The smell of both Aspen and old 2stroke mixed some people don't like.

The new FRT Aspen has totally different 2stroke oil so if you have the older type of Aspen2 please try the new Aspen2 with FRT on the can's.
