I wouldn't hassle them about the guarantee, I've given it a right hammering to be fair.

It is good gear. Fancy this one for firewood and forestry work (but a bit pricey).

 

Waterproof Field Jacket - Country Covers

Always found a Barbour heavyweight wax for slow/abrasive work, a decathlon sailing waterproof with some hi vis tape good for ground work and at under twenty cheap enough to replace every season and then a kayaking cagoule with neoprene or latex cuffs purely for climbing and only when it really rains to be the solution. Been trying to find a good soft shell for climbing but found nothing I like the cut off or life of yet. I think it's the old jack of all trades master of none with waterproofs, one will not do everything comfortably and one rip buggers it so plenty and cheap is the way in my book, obviously excluding the Barbour which has to last given the price.

Clark's Cut & Climb for me. Nice and dry plus massive side vents which are really good for keeping the air flowing.

 

Your base layer is really important too. If you're wearing a cotton t-shirt you're likely to end up damp all day whatever you wear on too. Wear something like a coolmax shirt, or the Stein hi viz job and you've for a decent chance of drying out.

 

If it's warm but wet I often won't wear a waterproof, but just put a fleece on when I stop. If it gets really bad then the Cut & Climb goes on top and I gradually dry out as I work!

Having seen your cut and climb jacket in action I might have to invest in one myself. It's got to be better than my old Stihl 'waterproof' with the leaky seams!

That's good to hear mate. It's got good reviews on some wildfowling forums, and those boys need good kit!

Light is good, I'm a layering fan, got loads of good under and mid layers and fleeces etc.

I'll get an XXXL.

Haha my Cornish mate is like that bout 9.5 stone but look a tank when. All wrapped up got mine from the game fair this year was £65 but not all don't wear it at work as it's the wrong colour prefer a hi viz so I wear the cyclists jacket from mountain warehouse, £40 nice light strong think pretty dry and drys quicks ticks all my boxes

I use the sip jacket and trousers, the flexorhane ones... Were fine for about a year or so, last week got wet through within a hour, and they say they don't need reproofing when I asked,

 

Think I may go for cut and climb this year, any recommendations on trousers??? Ideally ones that can be pulled over a boot
