If the police and traffic wardens have access to the DVLA database and can check chassis numbers then I suppose it doesn't matter. They don't like you driving without a plate thats for sure, I got pulled the other day having forgotten to put a plate on the trailer, £100 on the spot fine!

It will be interesting to see what the finer details are and if it is to happen in October then they are cutting it fine for such a large and major project, I have heard rumors but not seen anything in black and white as yet.

 

It puts another burden on the private individual and those that will have to enforce it with more rules and regulations to comply with.

In France each car has a sticker with MOT (CT) & a miniature insurance certificate both show expiry dates because the vehicle is insured (as opposed to the driver) theres no road tax as thats on the fuel.

 

Good idea me thinks, but the UK system is wrong & the DVLA are making money where the tax has already been paid, another example of rip off Britain.

If you do a google search for vehicle insurance check you will get a link to the motor insurance database website askmid and can use it to check your own vehicle insurance details are on there correctly and it is showing as insured
