Using a chainsaw in a public place

Question

Posted

Just out of interest how would an individual stand in the eyes of the law if he/her used a chainsaw without suitable PPE, without insurance or training in a public place with no warning signs etc?

Hey,

trust me I get ll this legal stuff, social and economic position.

end of the day I lost my job...had a good job, have family....I am a Gen X er ....lets not get into the government sponsored generational debate / argument which is where they want to take us!!

Im just a guy wanting to heat his home whilst recently unemployed FFS !

I thought I was okay....wait until they come for you !!

But still put chainsaw trousers on as saws bite.  Wood grows for free. But some people have certain ideas.  K

Look buddy you ask a question from professionals.
You don’t like the answer, so it’s **** you I’ll do it anyway???
If you’re that desperate don’t take a saw.
Just a piece of string to tie up the dead branches you find on the ground.
Good luck

Even if he cuts it down it still needs seasoning first for 6 months + so all a pointless endeavour. Maybe look into scrap pallets or similar builder waste but don’t burn anything like MDF wood

Chill.....Go get your vaccine and then sit and watch BBC or Sky News ?

No @Rough Hewn is right. People stealing timber from woodland is stopping people that rely on earning there living from it eating.

Woodland is a saw mill or firewood merchants stock room, it’s the same as shop lifting or taking the copper pipe from the roof of a plumbers van. You nick my stock and I can’t do my job, it’s on a level with a pikey robbing a working mans tools. ??

are you a pikey?

Ask the land owner for permission and you may well

If it’s your woodland, no problem.
Not your woodland...
Theft
Criminal damage
Trespass
Going equipped to commit crimes
Conservation areas
TPO’s
SSSI’s
Not to mention potentially violent land owners often equipped with dogs and shotgun.
Get permission.
