Anyone got any good solutions to the eternal problem of finding a vehicle that can perform the following roles

carry 5 or 6 people occasionally

be a van most of the time

return 40+MPG

be nice enough for a 60 mile a day commute

pull a tonne when needed

cost around 4-6000

all ideas greatly appreciated

Berlingo, Partner, Kangoo or VW Caddy

audi a6 quattro?

carrys 5 in comfort

as big as a berlingo

pulls very well

for an older one cost only a couple of grand

4wd

shares many parts with vw so wont wear out as quickly as others but still affordable to repair

good choice of engines

I had high hopes for the new dacia duster 4x4 crew cab pick up

But they are not importing to uk.....

Guess that renault/dacia/nissan relationship means they want to sell nissan pick ups for £25k rather than dacia ones at about £12k

I might consider lhd one If price right
